I am a bit of a global citizen having worked, travelled and played across all the continents, including my very first job at ICI Plc as Commercial Manager for the Caribbean! I spent 10-years in a variety of roles at ICI including living in Zimbabwe where my first child Emma was born. My career since has included consulting with PA Group, then as a Director of Scient Inc (an early dotcom business) before moving into the world of innovation and sustainability where I spent the last 15 years helping organisations to embed environmental and social sustainability into their businesses.
My engagement with PEDS followed the tragic death of my daughter Emma in August 2018 aged 27 years from severe entrenched anorexia since the age of 13. Emma’s struggle to control the illness and the impact that this had on her, the family and those around have led me to dedicate time to finding a better way to help those suffering as Emma did. As well as joining the Trustee Board at PEDS, I am joining the steering group for the NHS transformation pathway pilot in the East of England and assisting the CPFT to improve services locally.
Outside of work I practice the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do and am an enthusiastic skier, snowboarder, kite-surf and paddle boarder. I live with partner Wendy and our children Eden (now a ski instructor in Japan) Jordan, final year University student and Connor (13).
