BEAT Support in Cambridgeshire
BEAT, the UK's eating disorder charity are now providing online support via two groups, which is currently available to those within Cambridgeshire.
Beat provides a number of programmes, these include direct support for people with eating disorders, coaching and training for their carers, and training for health professionals who are not eating disorder specialists.
Below is a summary of some of the most popular programmes:
Bolster - Coaching support for adults with any emerging eating disorder, via 12 weekly telephone sessions. For adults (aged 18+)
Momentum - NICE-concordant guided self-help for adults with Binge Eating Disorder, via 8 telephone support sessions over 12 weeks. For adults (aged 18+)
SharED -Email peer-to-peer support for young people with any eating disorder, via moderated emails over 6 months, delivered by volunteers with lived experience. For young people (aged 12–25)
Endeavour - Support for parents and other caring for children and young people (aged 5-15) with ARFID diagnosis and/or behaviours and presentations.
Beyond the Symptoms - Online tailored education course to help health professionals be better able equipped to identify and respond appropriately to people with eating disorders.
Developing Dolphins - Online weekly training series over five weeks to empower carers to provide the best possible guidance and support to their loved one.
